A walk at Allens Field in South Ascot

On 23rd March 2019 we went for a family walk at Allens Field, South Ascot, having never been here before. We went on a Saturday lunchtime and did not see anyone else walking there, so it was very peaceful and we were able to enjoy seeing our first bees of the year and two bright yellow moths / butterflies. Allens Field consists of woodland, wet woodland and grassland space. During our walk we just made up our own route to explore. We have visited Binfield Scarecrow Trail for a number of years now, the village always put in so much effort into their displays and they are a joy to see and bring many smiles - our children just love finding the scarecrows. We just love the community spirit this event brings and there is the annual Binfield Easter Egg Trail too. We recently visited the new play area at Cantley Park in Wokingham and I have to say we were really impressed! There is a great range of play equipment for all ages (including adults!). The play area is bright and colourful with some interactive elements too. What's at Cantley Park Play Area? Bachelor's Acre is a small park located a little way from the tourist bustle in the centre of Windsor. It has quite a large children's play area and a number of other things to see. What will I find there? There is a variety of different play equipment aimed at 3-8 year olds in the playground. You will find climbing frames, a little play house, slides, see-saws, balancing beams and swings. Vansittart Recreation Ground in Windsor consists of an open field with a football pitch, play area and skate park. The play area is suitable for 3-12 year olds. There is limited free parking which was slightly tricky to find, however head to the 'parking' section on this blog post where you will find more details of parking suggestions. Sandhurst Memorial Park holds a green flag award and is set on a 69 acre site which is managed by Bracknell Forest Council and Sandhurst Town Council. The park neighbours Shepherd Meadows which runs along the River Black Water. We have previously walked along the River Black Water at Shepherd Meadows from Marshall Way in GU47 0FJ, which is in the opposite direction to the park but was a lovely walk. There are two brilliant playgrounds at The Pinewood Centre in Wokingham Without - one is a wooden adventure playground set in a woodland and the other is train themed and next to the Pinewood Miniature Railway but neither are far apart from one another, so you could play in both whilst visiting. In addition there is the Pinewood Trim Trail (see picture below), which is a free wooden fitness trail for 12 years plus which can be found near Dickie’s Pond. The Look Out Play Area in Bracknell is one of our favourite parks to visit in Berkshire. The play area is set in a woodland in Swinley Forest, it has wonderful play equipment, which is predominantly wooden. The playground is large but divided into three adjoined areas; the first area nearest to the car park is an inclusive play area with lots of equipment suitable for children with additional needs.
