Marlow is a delightful place to visit, we adore taking a picnic to enjoy the Higginson Park whilst watching the boats on the river and feeding the swans. Marlow is picturesque, has beautiful shops, restaurants and cafes, a stunning bridge, plenty of river life, riverside walks and a wonderful play area in Higginson Park in Marlow. About Higginson Park Higginson Park links Marlow High Street and the River Thames. It’s a large open space (23 acres) with a fabulous play area and skateboard park. The area has been a park since 1926. There are beautiful trees, formal flower beds and…
Today we went for a family Sunday walk around Pope's Meadow in Binfield. Pope's Meadow is named after poet Alexander Pope (1688-1744) who lived in Pope's Manor adjacent to the site. There are designated paths around Pope's Meadow, which is a 13.7 acre parkland site in Binfield, Bracknell Forest. There is a free car park and play area next to it, with open green spaces, a couple of picnic benches and a pond. Our little one managed the walk we went on and it seemed just about the right length for little legs! The play area was a hit with…
We took a family trip to Dinton Pastures Country Park during the first weekend of February half term. Despite it being cold the sky was bright blue and the sun was shining. We arrived at about 10am on the Sunday morning and parked in the overflow car park as the main car park was already full (parking charges apply). First of all we went for a walk around the lake. There were lots of ducks and geese to look at and plenty of muddy puddles! Our walk was lovely and it was fantastic to be outside in the fresh air,…

We recently went for a little walk around the nature trail at South Hill Park, Bracknell which comprises of wooden and metal sculptures placed around the woodland area and pond at South Hill Park. The sculptures really give you a chance to explore a woodland and see the natural eco system at work. The squirrels were certainly busy when we went for our walk. We spotted a beautiful dragonfly by the lake and wondered where we would end up if we went through the door in the tree! It was also lovely to watch the ducks and water fountain on…
