Today we headed to Slough to have a go at the Dinosaur Trail at Herschel Park. We have a child who adores dinosaurs and it was a great opportunity to get outside on an adventure, despite the rain.  The Dinosaur Trail Active Slough have put up an Xplorer Dinosaur Trail at Herschel Park which is on throughout the summer and there are 15 dinosaurs cards hidden around the park. Walking at Shepherd Meadows and River Blackwater, Sandhurst

We went walking at Shepherd Meadows and River Blackwater, Sandhurst on a sunny summer Sunday afternoon. It was such a delightful place to walk. The walk at Shepherd Meadows is linked at one end to neighbouring Sandhurst Memorial Park to the south of Sandhurst.  Where did we walk? From the car park (see postcode at the bottom of this post) we walked over a playing field until we met the River Blackwater. We recently went walking at Maidenhead Thicket and The Butterfly Trail. The walk felt like a good adventure as there were plenty of different paths to take and some nature trail routes to find. We didn’t take one but this would be a lovely walk to take a picnic on as there is lots of open space and benches dotted around.  The walk also is quite unique as to access the Maidenhead Thicket side of the walk from the car park off Henley Road you walk over a pedestrian motorway bridge. Walking at Peacock Meadows, Bracknell

We went Walking at Peacock Meadows, Bracknell on the last weekend in June, during lockdown and it was relatively quiet. The meadow is a large open space made up of 36 hectares. There are clean and tidy paths and a free car park. The meadow is dog friendly and we got an off road buggy around the site without a problem. We love walking at Lily Hill Park in Bracknell it is one of our favourite places to go for a family walk and adventure. The park is made up of 23 hectares of public open space which includes woodland areas, open green space, ponds, a boardwalk and sculptures plus plenty of wildlife and flowers. It’s also home to England’s longest picnic bench - carved from a single piece of wood. We park in the North Car Park which is free of charge and can be found off Lily Hill Road. Whilst out running an errand in the February Half Term we planned to stop en-route to go walking at Wildmoor Heath Nature Reserve, Crowthorne, which is jointly owned by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust and Bracknell Forest. There is a car park (postcode: GU47 8PD) which was free of charge and it also had two picnic benches next to the car park. Despite being in Oxfordshire, Henley-on-Thames is just over the Berkshire boarder (approx 25 minutes / 30 minutes from Reading / Maidenhead) and worth a visit. It's not only a quaint town to visit but you can have some great walks along the river watching the boats and wildlife. We enjoy visiting Mill Meadows, Henley-on-Thames, its one of our favourite parts of the town. Dorney Lake is a 2,200m purpose built lake owned and financed by Eton College, set in 400 acres of parkland. The land includes an arboretum and nature conservation area. The lake was made for and used in the 2012 Olympics and still has its Olympic rings on display today. The lake is situated in Dorney, Buckinghamshire not far from Eton and Windsor. The lake can be accessed by the public for walking. A family walk in Marlow

We enjoyed our family walk in Marlow along the River Thames. We parked in Higginson Park and walked along the tow path along the River Thames. The path was flat and well maintained with lots of families pushing buggies and walking dogs, there were a couple of well maintained bridges to walk over however. The walk was really scenic with views of Marlow Bridge and All Saints Church Bisham, across the water to look at. We fed the swans and ducks on the river during our walk and also watched the boats on the river. We also enjoyed watching the…
