Walking at Windlesham Field of Remembrance

Walking at Windlesham Field of Remembrance

We recently went walking at Windlesham Field of Remembrance and it is a lovely location for a family morning or afternoon out. Windlesham is in Surrey and sits just over the border from Berkshire. Visiting Runnymede Pleasure Grounds

Visiting Runnymede Pleasure Grounds

Runnymede is known for it's connections to the Magna Carta and is situated in Egham, Surrey on the outskirts of Windsor, Berkshire. There is lots to see and do whilst visiting Runnymede Pleasure Grounds. It's a great place to visit with the family. You can take a stroll alongside the River Thames with plenty of opportunity to watch the wildlife and boats. From the car park, if you walk with the play area on your right, head toward the river. Then turn right, walking past the boat club, you can then follow the tow path to Bell Weir Lock. The…

A circular walk at Ankerwycke, Surrey

One place we have found through our membership is walking at Ankerwycke, this site is special as it’s home to the National Trusts eldest tree - just over the Berkshire border in Surrey and across the River Thames from National Trust site Runnymede. Ankerwycke makes a good circular walkwhich is dog friendly. We have been in both winter and spring, it was pretty muddy in the winter (so we suggest wellies!) The…

Lightwater Country Park is a brilliant open space to explore. Although the Country Park is in Surrey is isn’t far from the Berkshire boarder. The Country Park is just off junction 3 of the M3 between Bagshot and Lightwater. What is there to do when exploring Lightwater Country Park? We have been to exploring Lightwater Country Park on a number of occasions and enjoy walking through the woodlands and around the ponds. You can see and hear the M3 motorway through the woods on part of one of the trails but it is fenced off. Alongside the nature trails there…
