Did you know there is a play area at Ascot Heath at Ascot Racecourse? You can also enjoy a walk around The Heath on non-racedays where you can get great views of the racecourse itself and the grandstand. It’s a great flat place for children learning to ride a bike and scooter.
What is at the play area?
The play area is in the centre of The Heath at the racecourse and is enclosed by a wooden fence. It is also a dog free area.
The play area is not huge, but you have to walk, bike or scoot a good distance to get there, so it’s a great place for the kids to enjoy mid trip to The Heath.
At the park there is a bucket swing, toddler swing and swing for older children. There are two climbing frames – one aimed at younger children with a slide and the other aimed at older children all with fab views of the grandstand.

What facilities are there?
There are two horse boxes situated on The Heath where you can get drinks, paninis, burgers, cakes and ice creams. There are also picnic benches to sit on near the catering horse boxes. The drinks horse box is open daily currently (8am weekdays, 9am weekends until approx 4pm – dependent on the weather), I didn’t managed to get times for the burger horse box. (This information was correct as of 15.05.2021).
If you are walking from Ascot High Street, you could also grab a coffee on the High Street.
There are no toilets.
Where can we park and how do we access The Heath?
There are three access points into the The Heath at Ascot Racecourse.
There is a pedestrian tunnel which can be accessed off Ascot High Street. It’s almost directly opposite Car Park 3 and just down the road from the Ascot library. Alternatively you can access the course via the Holloway Underpass, here you can park you car on the curb side on the slope leading to the tunnel and then walk through the tunnel to access to racecourse. Click here to view the What3Word location for where to park on the map or the nearest postcode SL5 7LJ. There is also an access point via a gate opposite Kennel Lane, there is no parking but you can access if on foot.
