We enjoy watching planes at Blackbushe Airport, it makes a great trip out for families. Blackbushe Airport based in Camberley is a fantastic local airport where you are able to to see small aircrafts, jets and helicopters taking off and coming into land. There is The Pathfinder Cafe at the airport, which has been refurbished with an aviation theme and is now under aerodrome management. It is open from 8am – 4pm Tuesday – Sunday. The cafe sells a range of food, cooked breakfast, cake, ice cream, drinks and more! The cafe has an large outdoor seating next to the airfield so you can get a great view of the planes and helicopters coming into land and taking off. There are regularly families at the cafe watching the excitement on the runway. It is best to go on a dry day to get the best views from outside.
The runway is inspected by a vehicle with flashing lights and there is a fire brigade on site so there is plenty to watch. You will also spot the airport control tower and windsock.
Next to the control tower you can also access Yateley Common where you can go for a walk. Here you can also walk on the old runway.
Where to park?
Blackbushe Airport has it’s own free car park and there are spaces outside the cafe. Address: Blackbushe Airport, Camberley, Surrey, GU17 9LQ.
