We recently went walking at Windlesham Field of Remembrance and it is a lovely location for a family morning or afternoon out. Windlesham is in Surrey and sits just over the border from Berkshire.

What is at Windlesham Field of Remembrance?
At Windlesham Field of Remembrance you will find large open fields surrounded by established trees plus a woodland walk, a play area and Fieldhouse Coffee which is a coffee shop and cafe. The cafe is open inside, for takeaway or click and collect. When we visited due to Covid restrictions you couldn’t sit inside so we were served via the serving hatch. We ordered hot chocolates to walk with and they were delicious. The cafe sells a range of food and the cakes looked fantastic and they also serve ice cream in cones too.

There is also a community hub based on the site which can be used for hall bookings, meeting room bookings, book exchange library. Rainbow Corner Nursery & Forest School are also based here alongside Fieldhouse Coffee.

Where did we walk?
From the car park, we stopped at the cafe for a hot chocolate takeaway. Then we headed over the playing fields to the play area. You can see the play area from the car park and cafe.

After playing in the play area we took the path into the woods, which was on the lefthand side of the hand print picture which you can find by the play area. We then carried straight on into the woods eventually turning left. We walked straight ahead until we could see the Forest School Camp area on our left hand side. We walked down past the Forest School Camp and then turned right until we got back to the playing field and walked to the car.

The walk could have been extended and there are signs to follow in the woodland plus a pond to discover and different routes to take. Below is a map which you will find next to the car park to help you navigate around the site.

Where can you park?
The free car park address is Windlesham Field of Remembrance, Kennel Lane, Windlesham, Surrey, GU20 6AA.
