We enjoy going for a walk and exploring the grounds at South Hill Park nature trail in the woodland area which are made of of wooden and metal sculptures. The sculptures are animal themed eg bee, fox and dragonfly to mention a few. We have got a buggy round the woodland paths before but there are some steepish climbs with drops to the side and next time will opt to take the baby carrier. We also took the dog with us on our adventure. South Hill Park Nature Trail
There are two large lakes at South Hill Park – the South Lake and the North Lake – this map will help you get your bearings and has a selection of walks marked on it. The lakes are a great place to feed the ducks and geese. There is plenty of open space for children to run and their are beautiful rose garden next to the main South Hill Park building to explore.

At South Hill Park there is a lovely small toddler park with wooden and metal play equipment surrounded by sand. If you also head out towards the back of the South Lake you will find the Hedgehog Park which has another play area with giant slide. There is also a play area at the North Lake side, see map for exact location.
We often see families taking picnics and eating it on the South Hill Park lawn in warmer months in front of the grade 2 listed house. The Atrium Bar and Restaurant is also another option for food and drink.
South Hill Park gives you a chance to enjoy the outside, there is plenty to discover and parking is free of charge for upto 200 cars.
