Visiting Hitcham Dairy Ice Cream

It’s worth visiting Hitcham Dairy Ice Cream in Burnham, Slough if you fancy a treat. Not only is the ice cream delicious there is also the opportunity to eat your ice cream whilst watching some farm animals which are in the paddocks next to the ice cream shop. When we visited we saw sheep, lambs, turkeys, chickens and cows.

Where do you buy the ice cream from?

Once parked, you head over to the hatch at the ice cream shop where you will find a list of all the ice cream flavours on offer, plus the prices. Then you order through the hatch, the gentleman who served us was very friendly and helpful. Everything was laid out really well, so you can order in a Covid friendly manner. Make sure you take cash, as card wasn’t accepted when we visited. Once ordered you put your cash into a tub, another Covid safety measure put in place.

The ice cream is delicious, we ordered two single scoops of strawberry in cones, one single scoop of salted caramel in a cone and one single scoop of honeycomb in cone which all came to £10. The ice cream is all made from fresh milk, free range eggs, fresh cream and natural flavourings and the servings are generous.

Next to the shop is a paddock with picnic benches and next that it is another paddock, when we visited at the beginning of May it had lambs in which you could watch was enjoying your ice cream.
