Yesterday 1st August 2018 saw the launch of The Lexicon’s Lego Brick Safari and Treasure Hunt. A number of Lego animals have moved into the shopping centre for a few weeks during the school holidays including a giant Elephant, Lion and Crocodile. There are large animals around the shopping centre all made out of Lego bricks. We went to see them today and thought the Lego models were really impressive with the lion and elephant being our favourite. Next to each large animal there was a sign which explained how many hours it took to make each sculpture – a lot of hours and hardwork went into creating the creatures.
Then there are an additional 10 lego brick animal sculptures hidden around the shops. The Lexicon are running a Treasure Hunt which you can enter until 14th August 2018, with a chance to win Lego prizes. We picked up our Safari Treasure Hunt entry form sheet from the craft tent outside M&S on The Avenue, which was part of the event.
As part of the Lego Brick Safari, The Lexicon are running a series of free safari themed craft workshops. The workshops are taking place from Wednesday 1st August 2018 – Friday 3rd August 2018 and Wednesday 8th August 2018 – Friday 10th August 2018 11am – 4pm and the crafts are as follows.
Wednesday 1st August 2018: Peg crocodiles Thursday 2nd August 2018: Lion spoons Friday 3rd August 2018: Stick animal bookmarks
Wednesday 8th August 2018: Wool geckos Thursday 9th August 2018: Pipe cleaner and bead snakes Friday 10th August 2018: Mini jungles in jars
My little one and I had a go at making a Lion Spoon today and there were also three child sized tables set up so the children could have a go at playing with some Lego.
Thanks to The Lexicon for putting on another event for families. Please check The Lexicon events page for full details of this event before attending.
