Happy New Year! Having little ones means that we won’t be going out on New Years Eve this year, we are fine with that and happy just to have a nice meal, light the fire, play a board game or watch a film and then have an early night! It also means that we are keen to go and do something as a family on New Year’s Day, previously we have been to the Sunninghill Wheelbarrow Race which is always great fun to watch.  Below are a few things that you could do on New Year’s Day in Berkshire. Free things to do in Berkshire this Summer Holidays

Here are some ideas of places, events and activities you can attend / do for free of charge in Berkshire and the surrounding area. Visit Changing of the Guard in Windsor. Play in a Splash Pad, both Jocks Lane and Locks Ride have Splash Pads which are free of charge to use. Go for a picnic along the River Thames - Windsor, Marlow, Henley on Thames and Runnymede are all lovely locations to take a picnic. Feed the Ducks (again, the above locations are all great for this).Norden Farm have created ‘The Maidenhead Beach’ which is open for the Summer and it’s free to play. Why not walk at a famous landmark? You could take a walk on the Heath at Ascot Racecourse (during non race days) or walk around Olympic Rowing venue, Dorney Lake. Binfield Easter Egg Hunt 2019 Easter Holiday Hunt, Maidenhead, organised by Enjoy Maidenhead, 5th April 2019 – 22nd April 2019. Find Emanuel the Bunny at the locations on the Easter Egg Hunt map. There are a large number events and activities taking place in Berkshire over the February Half Term, some of which are shared below, in date order. Cliveden’s February Half Term Tree Trail, Cliveden – National Trust, Taplow, Saturday 16th February 2019 – Sunday 24th February 2019, 10am – 2.30pm, Trail Price: £2 per child, admissions charges apply to enter the estate. Suitable for aged 3+ years. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Collect trail from the tent next to the information centre. During the trail, children will take on the role of nature detective and will explore Cliveden’s gardens and woodlands, finishing up with a tree-themed craft to take home.
