Our Half Term visit to The Fairy Tale Forest at The Lexicon, Bracknell

On the Tuesday of the February Half Term we visited The Fairy Tale Forest at The Lexicon. I had pre-booked tickets online and paid full price for our tickets - £2 per child plus a booking fee of 30p and I was free of charge as an accompanying adult (there is a charge for additional adults). The Fairy Tale Forest is on until 22nd February 2019 and you are advised to book tickets online to avoid disappointment. Upon arrival, we were checked into the event and children were asked to sit on bean bags underneath a giant inflatable green leaf. The decoration certainly helped set the scene for the story telling. There was also seating provided for the adults. Little Red Reading Hood and the Wild Wolf then introduced themselves and led the session which lasted about 20 minutes. The audienc

The Lego Brick Safari and Treasure Hunt at The Lexicon, Bracknell

Yesterday 1st August 2018 saw the launch of The Lexicon's Lego Brick Safari and Treasure Hunt. A number of Lego animals have moved into the shopping centre for a few weeks during the school holidays including a giant Elephant, Lion and Crocodile. There are large animals around the shopping centre all made out of Lego bricks. We went to see them today and thought the Lego models were really impressive with the lion and elephant being our favourite. Next to each large animal there was a sign which explained how many hours it took to make each sculpture - a lot of hours and hardwork went into creating the creatures. Then there are an additional 10 lego brick animal sculptures hidden around the shops. The Lexicon are running a Treasure Hunt which you can enter until 14th August 2018, ...

The Spring Garden at The Lexicon, Bracknell

During the Easter holidays we visited The Spring Garden at The Lexicon and had a wonderful 1/2 hour. The Spring Garden was a pop-up experience in Princess Square. We pre-booked our space via the Lexicon's website and just turned up 5 minutes before our allocated session.  Upon arrival we were welcomed by two really helpful and friendly members of staff and then invited into the Spring Garden, the decoration and setting was magical and we were met by the Daffodil Princess. We were then taken to a table where we got to decorate a ceramic bird feeder with brightly coloured and metallic pens. Whilst taking part in the craft activity two flower people also came to say hello who captivated my little ones imagination. About half way through the session we were then invited to sit...

Breakfast at Bills, Bracknell

We recently went for breakfast on a Sunday morning at Bills in The Lexicon, Bracknell. Since the shopping centre opened we have said we will aim to try all the restaurants. This time we thought we would give Bills a try for breakfast. We thought Bills would be busy on a Sunday morning so on Saturday night when we had planned what to do on the Sunday we booked our table online. It was very straight forward and quick and when we arrived we were made very welcome and were taken straight to our table despite us being 15 minutes early. I had already had a sneaky peak at the menu online so had a good idea of what I was going to order for me and the little one and my husband is a big cooked breakfast fan, so we didn’t really need to look at the menu when seated. Once settled our orde

Tang’s, The Lexicon, Bracknell

It's great now The Lexicon in Bracknell is open as it's brought a number of new restaurants to the area. We have been in to Bracknell a few times since the opening and tried out a couple of the restaurants and look forward to sharing some more restaurant reviews soon. Last week we headed to Tang's all you can eat Oriental Buffet. During Christmas and New Year we were in Worcester and stumbled across an all you can eat Chinese Buffet and were really impressed, coincidently Tang's Bracknell started to follow Berkshire Mummies on Instagram so we thought it would be worth a trip. To get into Tang's Restaurant from the high street you have to go upstairs (via lift or stairs). The restaurant works in a slightly different way to a conventional restaurant as you pay for your all you can eat...
