AD – Gifted Meal // Review – Veganuary at Bill’s, Bracknell

Thanks to Bill's for inviting us to their Bracknell restaurant in The Lexicon to try out their Veganuary menu. As a family we have discussed the idea of becoming vegans and don’t believe we could cut out meat and dairy completely from our diets, however we have decided we would like to eat a few more plant based dishes throughout the week. So visiting Bill’s to try out their Veganuary menu was a great way to kick start this off for us. Since The Lexicon in Bracknell opened we have enjoyed eating at the restaurant so it was great to be back.  My husband and I went and enjoyed the meal at Bill’s and took our baby along with us. The service was great and the food was extremely tasty. We tried a drink each from the Low and No Drinks Menu, I had a Pear and Ginger Cooler and my husband

Review // The St George and Dragon, Wargrave, Reading

On Wednesday 20th February 2019, I visited The St George and Dragon with my husband, father and little one. I was invited, with three guests to look around the newly refurbished pub and to taste their new menu. I was gifted the meal with my family in exchange for writing a review about our evening at the restaurant. I have recently also been gifted meals in exchange for review at sister pubs The Warren, Wokingham and The Red Lion, Stoke Green – do click on the links if you fancy a read about my meal and experience at these restaurants. The St George and Dragon has a great large modern bar space, comfy relaxed seating areas where you can enjoy a drink, next to the real fire and dining areas overlooking the River Thames. There is also a private dining area in one corner of the pub which

Review // The Red Lion, Stoke Green

On Wednesday 6th February 2019 I was invited to the media preview at The Red Lion in Stoke Green, just outside Slough. The pub has recently undergone a refurb and it was great to have a preview of the restaurant prior to it re-opening this Saturday. I was lucky enough to be able to invite a guest and took my husband along and we took the opportunity to have a little date night. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the roaring fires, an amazing gin station and a bar packed full of drink choices. We sat by one of the open fires and were kindly given a selection of canapés which allowed us to sample some of the dishes on the starter menu before heading to the restaurant. The Red Lion has an incredible selection of menus available including the lunch, dinner and dessert menus plus a mid

AD – Review // The Ivy Marlow Garden

On 3rd January 2019 we were invited as a family to dine at The Ivy Marlow Garden in exchange for reviewing our experience. It was great to be able to extend our Christmas and New Year celebrations out a little bit further before getting back into our normal routine again after the festive period.  Upon arrival we were greeted at the front desk, where our coats were taken to the cloakroom, we were then escorted to our table which was beautifully laid out with white table cloths and we were presented with a selection of menus.  We were offered drinks whilst looking at the menus before having the choice specials presented to us by our waiter. The waiting staff were extremely attentive. We ordered our food, there was not a specific children’s menu but we opted for the fish gou

AD – Review // The Greene Oak, Oakley Green, Windsor

On Sunday 16th December 2018, my husband, little one and I went to The Greene Oak, Oakley Green, Windsor for Sunday lunch. We were invited to eat at the pub in exchange for this review. The first thing that struck us about the pub was the cosy, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Upon arrival we were seated at our table and given the menu to peruse. Both the children’s and adult’s menu had a great selection on offer and it was good to see a ‘No and Low List’ on the drinks menu. We ordered and our drinks and food arrived promptly. To start I had spiced parsnip and bramley apple soup, which was not only delicious but also perfect for a damp December day and my husband had half a pint of prawns. For mains we all went for a roast, well you have to on a Sunday don’t you! My lit

AD – Review // The Warren, Wokingham

I was invited to take my family to the relaunch press event at The Warren, Wokingham where we were kindly #gifted a meal and drinks for me review and for us to enjoy whilst also having a look at the pubs new refurb. If fact we were extremely honoured as we were the first people to ever dine in the newly decorated restaurant. We arrived at 6.30pm when the pub opened, which was a real treat for my little one as it was approaching normal bedtime, but on this occasion was allowed to stay up for a treat - we were all made extremely welcome.  After getting our drinks from the bar we settled next to one of the roaring open fires (my idea of heaven), where we were then presented with a selection of delicious canapés, which the pub serves during certain event occasions. There was also

AD – Review // Giggling Squid, Wokingham

I was invited along by the Giggling Squid, Wokingham to enjoy a complimentary meal for two and chose to take my husband as my guest. We very rarely go out as a couple, so we organised a family member to babysit and on Tuesday 9th October 2018 visited the restaurant. We were made very welcome and chose where we would like to sit. We ordered our drinks and browsed the menu. To start we had the sharing platter for two which included strips of hand-cut pork grilled on skewers, salt and pepper squid, Thai chicken wings and vegetable spring rolls and we also had a portion of prawn crackers. The starter was delicious and the sharing platter was a great way to sample a selection of the starters. For mains, I had a Chicken Thai Red curry and sticky rice and my husband had the Sleeping H...
