Silchester Playground is maintained by a team of volunteers – The Silchester Playground Association and it’s a well maintained wooden play area over looking Silchester Playing Field. The park is great for toddlers and older children. The playground is in Hampshire but on the Berkshire border, approx 9 miles from Reading.

The play area is a short car drive from Silchester Roman ruins and archaeological site and Roman town of Calleva Atrebatum.
What is at the play area?
The enclosed play area has a range of wooden equipment including a fantastic wooden train, climbing frame, swings suitable for all ages, a snake balance beam and seesaw. There are also a couple of springing toys and outside the play area is a climbing rock and basketball hoop which would appeal to older children.

Where can I park?
There is a free car park right next to the Silchester playground and Silchester playing field. The car park can be found here.
