Berkshire’s Newest Literary Festival

Well Read (25th & 26th May) is a family-focused festival celebrating words, wisdom & wellness in nature. 80 Years of VE Day, Wokingham Town Hall, 8th May 2025, 10.30am – 2pm. Join Wokingham Poppy Appeal, Barkham Hookers and Elusive Brewing at Market Place – there will be military vehicles, poppies. 80 Years of VE Day, Newbury, 8th May 2025, 11am Services at Newbury War Memorial, Celebratory Lunch (Booking Essential), 7pm – 10pm, Beacon Lighting at Victoria Park.  Click here for details.

80 Years of VE Day, Shinfield, 8th May 2025. There will be a wreath laying and short service of thanksgiving from 8.30pm. Then a procession, led by Reading Scottish Pipe Band to the beacon, which will be lit at 9.30pm. Click here for details.
