Maidenhead’s Chinese New Year Celebrations 2019

On 9th February 2019, Chinese New Year celebrations will take place in Maidenhead to welcome in the Year of the Pig. The Chinese New Year celebration is now in its 15th year and is organised by the Maidenhead Town Partnership, Maidenhead’s, The Eagles Claw Kung Fu School and local Chinese association.

We attended the Chinese New Year celebrations in Maidenhead last year. Click here to read about our experience last year.

The parade starts at 1pm from The Boy in the Boat Statue and the colourful and loud procession then makes it way down Maidenhead’s High Street. During the procession there will be dancing Chinese Lions and thunder drumming.

There is also free Chinese Lantern Making in the Nicholsons Shopping Centre, Maidenhead between 11am – 3pm.

Please visit the Enjoy Maidenhead website for more event details.

*I was not asked or paid to write this blog post. We attended the Chinese New Year celebrations last year and had a lovely experience. Please check event details before travelling to check details are correct and the event is still running. Click here to view the Berkshire Mummies disclaimer.
