We had a go at Lily Hill Parks Mystery Brass Rubbing Trail. Lily Hill Park is based in Bracknell and is a fantastic family-friendly park to explore and enjoy a walk in the outdoors. There is plenty to explore at Lily Hill Park form the newt pond to the giant picnic bench, storytelling thrown and Father Oak.

What is the Mystery Brass Rubbings Trail?

The Mystery Brass Rubbing Trail Sheet can be downloaded here. It’s completely free to do and as you explore Lily Hill Park you look for 23 points of interest around the park. Then at each of the 23 points of interest are 23 wooded posts, which have some information about the point of interest and a brass rubbing disc of something related to nature.

The trail is fantastic and really allows families to explore Lily Hill Park whilst discovering nature. Thanks to the Bracknell Forest Hertiage Parks team for creating the trail.

What do I need to do the trail?

You will need to download and print this trail sheet at home, take it to Lily Hill Park and also remember to take a wax crayon or colouring pencils with you.

How long did it take to do the trail?

This is a hard one to answer, as we only completed part of the trail whilst at the park with friends and stopped for a picnic en-route. But I would say it took us about 45 minutes / 1 hour to collect half of the brass rubbings – so I would leave approx 2 hours to collect all or most of the rubbings. We are planning to go back and find more rubbings on another walk, so that could also be an option for you.

Is the trail free?

Yes, the trail is free apart from the printing costs. It is also free to park the car at Lily Hill Park.
