Is there anything better than eating tasty ice cream on a sunny day? There are some lovely places to buy delicious tasty ice creams in Berkshire and the surrounding area.
Great places for Ice Creams in Berkshire
Hitcham Dairy Ice Cream is set on a farm in Slough. You purchase your ice cream through a hatch and can watch some farm animals whilst you enjoy your ice cream. The ice cream is made fresh milk, free range eggs, fresh cream and natural flavourings. Click here to read about our visit.
*Robyn’s Nest Cafe, Warfield sells Kelly’s Ice Cream by the scoop and have a good selection of flavours, plus a full menu of other delicious food. Locks Ride Recreation Ground, Winkfield sell Marshfield Ice Cream by the scoop in cones or tubs. You can buy the ice cream from The Cabin which has seating outside. There is plenty of choice in terms of flavours. Locks Ride is popular with families with a fantastic play area with large sandpit and splash pad (open in the summer months).
*Edwards Coffee House, Windsor very kindly gave us some of their Kelly’s ice cream to try, we went for strawberry and salted caramel and they were both delicious. Edwards Coffee House has a large selection of flavours which you buy by the scoop. The is also a selection of drinks, cakes and sandwiches to buy which also look amazing. Edwards Coffee House is based next to the River Thames right next to the Hawker Hurricane by Alexandra Gardens. They also sell food for the ducks and swans. A flat walk you may enjoy which takes you by Edwards Coffee House and The River Thames is a Walk from Bath Island to Windsor Bridge.

Boulter’s Lock and Ray Mill Island, Maidenhead is a wonderful place to explore. You can see boats coming through the lock, feed the birds and explore Ray Mill Island. You can also get ice creams on Ray Mill Island at Island Piazza or from a kiosk selling ice cream next to Boulter’s Lock which is where the whip ice cream photographed below was purchased from.
Sweet Tiger can be found at 140, Crowthorne High Street. The shop sell New Forest Ice Cream, milk shakes and sweets.
Great places for ice creams outside Berkshire
Runnymede Pleasure Grounds, Egham is a brilliant place for a day trip; there is a play area, riverside walks, paddling pool in the summer months and it’s good for feeding the ducks, watching the boats and having picnics. The Little Green Boat Company – Kiosk, Lammas Recreation Ground, Staines sell New Forest Whippy Ice Cream and Soft Scoop ice cream in a range of flavours.
Langley Park Country Park, Iver serve traditional ice creams at the Tea Room next to the car park.
You can buy ice cream at Black Park in Wexham from the Lake Side cafe next to the car park, adjacent to Go Ape.
