What is there at Forbury Gardens in Reading?
Forbury Gardens is a lovely town garden which is free to enter and explore in the heart of Reading. The ornamental gardens are surround by a wall making it a really peaceful place to visit.
There is a bandstand (where bands play at the weekends during the Summer months) and you will be able to see the impressive Maiwand Lion statue here too.
There is no formal play area as such but the gardens still make for a lovely place to explore and run around.
There is also a kiosk which serves drinks and light snacks.
Where is Forbury Gardens and Where Can I Park?
Forbury Gardens is located between the town centre and the ruins of the 11th century abbey – not too far from Reading Station. The post code is RG1 3BB.
You will find parking nearby at The Oracle, Queen’s Road Car Park or Forbury Retail Park.
Reading Museum is also very close by if you have time to visit somewhere else whilst you are there. It is also free to enter.
