I love finding a new walk to explore and we were really pleased when we found Lightwater Country Park. Although the Country Park is in Surrey is isn’t far from the Berkshire boarder. The Country Park is just off junction 3 of the M3 between Bagshot and Lightwater.
We went for a family walk on a crisp sunny winters day where to sky was bright blue and it was fantastic to get out and explore one of the trails in the Country Park which is made up of 59 hectares which includes heathland, woodland and a couple of ponds. You could see and hear the M3 motorway through the woods on part of the trail but it was fenced off.
Alongside the nature trails there is a great little play area with lots of equipment to make young brains think. The sign outside the park states the play equipment is for those aged 4 years – 14 years. There were also ducks and geese on the ponds. There is a cafe on site, we had a slice of cake and some hot drinks and sat outside on one of the benches in the sunshine. There are also toilets. We went on a Sunday afternoon in February. The Country Park was being well used but it certainly didn’t feel too busy. We look forward to some more adventures are the Country Park.
