D Day 80th Anniversary Events in Berkshire

80th Anniversary of D Day, West Berkshire Museum, Newbury, 22nd May – 2nd June 2024. To commemorate the 80th anniversary year of D-Day West Berkshire Museum will be screening Working in Shadows, an archive film of workers at Elliotts of Newbury during the Second World War. Younger visitors can also make a pair of World War II aviator goggles. D Day Anniversary Display at Basildon Park, Reading, from 4th June 2024. There will be a display to explore in the house. You can find out more here.

Crowthorne D Day 80, Morgan Recreation Ground, Crowthorne, 6th June 2024, from 3.30pm. There will be a schools art show, WWII aeroplane models, a school choir, treasure hunt, fire engine, and much more. Free Event. You can find all details here and here.

D Day Commemoration, Greenham and Crookham Commons, Thatcham, 6th June 2024, 10.30am – 2pm. There will be a display of WW2 Military Vehicles at Greenham Common. You can find out more here.

D Day Commemoration Event, Bond Square, Bracknell, 6th June 2024, 8 – 9.30pm. There will be speeches from the Mayor of Bracknell Forest, James Sunderland MP, and others. School pupils will recite commemorative war poems and a beacon will be lit as part of the event. You can find details here.

D Day 80 Party in the Park, Victory Recreation Ground, Sunninghill, 6th June 2024, 4 – 10pm. There will be food stalls, a beer and Pimm’s tent, ice cream stall, fairground rides and fun for all the family. You can find out more here.

D Day 80th Anniversary Event, Woodford Park Memorial Ground, Woodley, 6th June 2024, 6 – 10pm. There will be a live band performing on stage, entertainers, food & drink stalls and more. Click here for details.

Party in the Paddock, Village Field, Standford Dingley, 6th June 2024, from 2pm. There will be live music from ‘Mr Grey’s Jail House Juke Box’who will play two sets plus a Disco and 40’s Music and much much more. You can find out more here.

Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of D Day, Parkway Shopping, Newbury, 8th June 2024, from 10am. There will be performances by the Defence Academy Military Wives Choir, Noelle Vaughn as well as vintage vehicles. Click here for details.

Sandhurst Freedom March, from Yorktown Road, Sandhurst, 15th June 2024, from 12 noon. There will be stalls, food, a march and parade and inspection at Memorial Park. There will be evening performances. You can find out more here.

D Day 80th Anniversary Convoy, Newbury Town Centre, 29th June 2024, from 11am. A convoy of approximately 80 classic military vehicles will drive through the high street to the Triangle Field show site. You can find out more here.
