Chinese New Year in Maidenhead – The Year of The Snake

A couple of years ago we experienced the Chinese New Year celebrations in Maidenhead which then marked the Year of the Dog. The sun shone as the Chinese Dragons danced their way down the high street after starting the procession with firecrackers, drums and dancing. There was a great atmosphere in the town as the Chinese Dragons, a symbol of China, which are believed to bring good luck to people, made their way along the procession route – it was fantastic to watch.

The 2025 – The Lion Dance

This year, 2025, marks The Year of the Snake and Maidenhead celebrate again on Saturday 1st February 2025, 12 noon – 4pm. The Eagle Claw Kung Fu School UK will again perform their traditional dragon and lion dance. St Ives Road, Maidenhead (outside the Town Hall).

New for 2025 – street food market and further wrap around entertainment.
