We went walking at Bramshot Farm Country Park, Fleet, which, I know isn’t in Berkshire but was worth the drive. The walk is about 13.5 miles away from Bracknell (approx 19 minutes drive on a good traffic day according to google!). We went on an overcast Friday afternoon. There were about 15 cars in the car park and it was nice and quiet with plenty of room for everyone. I suspect on sunnier days and weekends it will be busier.

What impressed me the most about Bramshot Country Park is how well managed and maintained the 91 acres site was. The country park is made up of open meadows and woodland.

There are designated paths to follow, which are very well sign posted and we started on the ‘Leaping Hare Loop’ and ended up merging onto ‘Old Oak Way’ half way through as we wanted to extend our walk. We could have opted to have carried on the ‘Leaping Hare Loop’ back to the car park. The Country Park is dog friendly and the paths are wheel chair and buggy friendly, a mixture of hard standing and well maintained grass paths.

The wildflowers and wild meadows were absolutetly wonderful to see throughout the walk. There are also several wooden carvings around the site including sheep, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, owls and bugs and more, some of which are calved into benches and picnic tables. We also discovered a great tree to climb. There is also a young apple orchard as part of the site.

The car park is free of charge. There are 2m height restrictions and the car park closes between 9pm and 6am overnight. There are no toilets or play area. The address for the country park is Bramshot Lane, Fleet, nearest postcode GU51 2RU.

We really enjoyed our time walking at Bramshot Farm Country Park, Fleet and look forward to returning soon. If you would like to find out more about the Country Park please click here.
