The Adventure Playgrounds at The Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham are lovely. They are split into two separate parks, one for older children and one for younger children.

What play equipment does the adventure playgrounds have?
The adventure playground for older children has climbing frames, the larger climbing frame has a slide. There is a wooden balance obstacle, roundabout and swinging bars and more all set in a woodland setting.
The adventure playground for younger children has swings, a small climbing frame, a wooden tunnel, slide and more. The floor surface is wood chip.
What else is at The Nature Discovery Centre?
The Nature Discovery Centre is a Wild Life Trust site and there are walking routes around the lake and through the apple orchard. If you are up for a longer walk you can also walk to the Kennet and Avon canal through the site.
There are plenty of birds to feed too, so make sure you take some food for them. You can book onto Nature Tot Classes and Buggy Fit sessions take place at this venue too.

What facilities are at The Nature Discovery Centre
There are lots of picnic tables dotted around the site. You can also get food and drink from The Nature Discovery Centre building (currently being served through an outdoor hatch during the Covid-19 pandemic).
There are toilets and baby changing facilities. The car parks are free of charge but you can contribute a donation for parking.
