AD – Review // SUUM Vietnamese Kitchen, Marlow

Having never eaten Vietnamese food, being invited to SUUM Vietnamese Kitchen in Marlow to try out their new menu seemed like a great opportunity for our family – we enjoy and actively encourage eating new and different flavoured food.

Upon arrival we were so warmly welcomed by the staff and owners of the independently run restaurant which can be found in Anglers Court at the top of Marlow High Street.

We ate early evening in the restaurant and started with a drink whilst perusing the menu. One of the drinks we tried was a mocktail, it was delicious and fruity with a real kick of spice at the end of each sip.

The children’s menu gave a great selection and is priced at £6.85 for two courses (starter and main) plus a juice or milk and ice cream can be added for an extra £2. For our eldest child (the other is a babe in arms, so couldn’t try the food yet!) we went for the Vegetarian Spring Rolls for starters and Pho Noodle Soup for mains. The noodles were a large portion for our young child’s appetite, so the dish didn’t all get eaten but we had fun fishing out the noodles whilst experimenting with chopsticks!

The restaurant is great for children who are adventurous eaters and are happy to explore and discover different flavours and smells, if obviously Vietnamese food isn’t your regular diet. There was also colouring available for children, which we didn’t use as we took our own activity book, but it’s great to know there is something on offer for younger visitors.

For the adult starters we ordered Fresh Summer Rolls with Prawns and Wrap and Roll Roast Duck, which everyone shared. Our eldest child loved sharing the duck and pancakes. It had not been our intention to share dishes but there was plenty to go round.

For mains we had Mama’s Food – a traditional family meal which was made up of a range of Vietnamese dishes. This was a great way to sample a selection of the cultures food. We also ordered Sizzling Duck which was just delicious. Needless to say we were very full, with no room for dessert. Apart from the little one of course who can always make room for ice cream!

We love visiting Marlow, we find the town always has a great atmosphere and we enjoy a walk along the river and a play at the play area at Higginson Park. It’s great to have another restaurant to add to our list of places to visit in the future.

Thanks SUUM Vietnamese Kitchen for having us.
