Thanks to Bill’s for inviting us to their Bracknell restaurant in The Lexicon to try out their Veganuary menu. As a family we have discussed the idea of becoming vegans and don’t believe we could cut out meat and dairy completely from our diets, however we have decided we would like to eat a few more plant based dishes throughout the week. So visiting Bill’s to try out their Veganuary menu was a great way to kick start this off for us. Since The Lexicon in Bracknell opened we have enjoyed eating at the restaurant so it was great to be back.
My husband and I went and enjoyed the meal at Bill’s and took our baby along with us. The service was great and the food was extremely tasty. We tried a drink each from the Low and No Drinks Menu, I had a Pear and Ginger Cooler and my husband had the Watermelon and Raspberry Cooler, both were refreshing and full of flavour.
For mains I had the Mushroom and Tarragon Suet Pudding with a roasted mushroom, parsley & white bean cassoulet which I have to say was really delicious and a perfect winter dish, the additional mushroom on top of the dish made it for me! My husband had the Bill’s Beetroot Stake which he enjoyed and the portion of fiery tiger fries were a mixture of potato and sweet potato fries which was a great combination. The béarnaise vegan mayo bought the dish together nicely and tasted incredible.
We both opted for the vegan sticky chocolate pudding and coconut ice-cream, to be honest it was rich and in hindsight we should have perhaps shared one! If I didn’t know, I would not have believed the pudding didn’t include dairy products.
The Veganuary menu runs until 31st January 2020 and customers can order any main from the Veganuary menu and enjoy a vegan dessert for £5 (available after 5pm).
We had a great lunch and experience at Bill’s and it was enjoyable checking out the Veganuary menu – thanks for having us.
We have previously visited Bill’s for breakfast where we paid full price for our food. Click here to read about our visit.
