As you will most probably be aware Prince Harry will marry his bride Ms Meghan Markle this Saturday at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. We decided to have breakfast in Windsor on Wednesday morning so we could soak up a bit of the atmosphere before the big day. Windsor was a hive of activity with people working hard preparing for the occasion, TV crews were filming, the bunting and flags were flying and members of the public had already set up their seats ready to get their glimpse of the newly weds on Saturday.
For some the Royal wedding celebrations started early and last week Upton House School based in Windsor celebrated the forthcoming wedding. Children aged 2-11 years, took part in a World Record attempt thanks to Busy Buttons Creative Studio, Windsor, to help make the World’s longest folded wedding card for Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle. It is hoped that all the cards when pieced together will be over 1 mile long and the card will be gifted to the Royal couple for their wedding. The Upton House children enjoyed a Royal picnic, took park in a Royal jigsaw challenge and dressed in Royal costumes or red, white and blue.
Legoland, Windsor also added a Royal wedding display in Miniland of Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding at Windsor Castle.
You may have plans to watch the Royal Wedding procession live in Windsor, or at home on the television, however there are a number of different events taking place in Berkshire which may be of interest.
There will be screenings of the Royal Wedding at The Lexicon in Bracknell and also at Riverside Gardens in Maidenhead. The Jelly Lounge, Windsor, The Bull in The Lexicon, Bracknell and The Cricketers in Warfield all have Royal Wedding celebration events taking place on 19th May 2018 so make sure you contact the venues directly to find out how to join in the fun and to check availability, some events are ticketed.
*I was not paid to write this post and views are my own. Before visiting any of the venues mentioned please contact them directly for prices, availability and to check the event is still taking place. Click here to view the Berkshire Mummies disclaimer*.
