(AD) A Bracknell Staycation at The Village Hotel

AD Disclaimer: Berkshire Mummies were kindly gifted a night away (Bed and Breakfast) at The Village Hotel and Fitness Club in Bracknell. This blog post contains affiliate links.

Our Staycation

We have never done a Berkshire staycation before so it was lovely to be invited by the brand new Village Hotel in Bracknell, to have a local overnight stay. Despite not being too far from home, it still felt like a real treat to have a night away and the children were so excited.

Upon arrival, we checked into the hotel. As The Village Hotel doesn’t actually have a reception desk, you check in via an electronic device which can be found in the main lobby of the hotel – this is where you also get your room key. There was a member of staff on-hand if you were having any issues with the technology.

We then made our way to our hotel room, which was spotless and tidy. We had a joining room, one with twin beds for the children and the other with a double for my husband and I. The rooms were fully-equipped with hair dryer, ironing board, TV, google doc plus the beds were super comfy.

Once we’d settled into the room, we headed to the pool for a swim – there are set times for family swimming so make sure you ask a member of The Village Hotel what these are so you don’t miss your chance to swim. Alongside the swimming pool there is a large gym, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi (which obviously children can’t use). Hotel guests are also given towels to use and lockers and there is a family changing area too.

We then went and chilled out in our room and enjoyed some downtime.

Evening Meal

In the evening we headed to The Pub and Grill; there is both an adult’s and a children’s menu with a good selection of food which you order at the bar or via the app. Top Tip: if you are staying in the hotel, make sure you book a table in The Pub and Grill as soon as you can upon arrival (the football was on the night we stayed and un-booked table availability was very limited). There is also room service available.

After our evening meal we enjoyed our sleepover and the kids just adored their evening away.

The following day we headed back to The Pub and Grill which was all set up for a buffet style breakfast. There was everything on offer from pastries, cereals, toast and fresh fruit to a full cooked breakfast.

After breakfast, we returned to the room to pack before heading for one final swim before we checked out.

Do we recommend The Village Hotel Bracknell?

The Village Hotel in Bracknell makes a great base if you want to visit some fantastic local attractions including The Look Out, South Hill Park, Coral Reef, Lapland UK, The Lexicon, Legoland and Windsor Castle.

We also love that the hotel is brand new, so clean and has a swimming pool. There is also a Starbucks on site and a Sainsburys across the road, plus three play areas at South Hill Park just down the road and The Look Out round the corner.

The Pub and Grill has a good selection of food, it’s not necessarily the cheapest but is certainly convenient and allows you to just relax and enjoy your stay. There is also a football table, which our children just loved playing on during our stay, plus large screens playing sport throughout the day.

The staff we met were all helpful and happy to help us with our questions.

A huge thank you to The Village Hotel and Fitness Club Bracknell for having us to stay.
