There are lots of lovely parks and playgrounds to explore in Maidenhead. Read on to find out about them – many of which we have visited before.

Parks and Playgrounds in Maidenhead
Grenfell Park – this park is located just around the corner from Maidenhead Train Station and town centre. There are two play areas, one which is packed full of play equipment including a range of climbing frames for older and younger children, monkey bars, zip wire, slide, seesaw, spring toys, obstacle course and toddler swings. In the second play area, on the opposite side of the park you will find a zip wire, slide which is down a grass bank and a bucket swing. There is also a table tennis table. Ockwells Park – The park is set in 130 acres of public space which is part of the nature reserve. Ockwells Park has a fantastic sized park with a wide mixture of play equipment, which includes climbing frames, swings, stepping stones, spider webs and loads more. You can read about our visit here.
Riverside Gardens – At Riverside Gardens you will find Jenners Riverside Cafe plus crazy golf which is run by the cafe. Alongside the cafe and crazy golf there is also a large playing field and a large play area with a sandpit and picnic benches. The River Thames is also on the opposite side of the road if you fancied a walk along the River. You can read about our visit here.
Ray Mill Island Play Area – Ray Mill Island is a wonderful place to visit with the children. There is lots to see and do including visiting the small playground on the island. The playground is situated next to the cafe at Ray Mill Island. Despite it’s small size it is a lovely park with a wooden wendy house, frog, stepping mushrooms and a spinning pole. Boyn Grove Park – Boyn Grove Park is a play area situated on Boyn Grove (Punt Hill). There is 2.8 hectares of open green space to enjoy. There are swings and plenty of climbing equipment at the park. The open space is a large open field based on a hill with a lovely oval bench in the centre. You can read about our visit here.
Oaken Grove Park – The enclosed play area is a good size with a large range of equipment suitable for older and younger children. In the play area you will find a small sand pit, zip wire, rotating swings, climbing frames, swings for older and younger children, slides, trampoline, roundabout, rope swing and more pieces of play equipment dotted around. There is also a small sandpit and a fruit maze. You can read all about our visit here.
Reachers Retreat – Reachers Retreat is a great play area which can be found in Dorney Reach in Maidenhead. It has lots to do for children of different ages including climbing frames, slides, swings, tunnels, obstacle courses, boat, zip wire and more. You can read about our visit here.
Kidwells Park – Here you will find a play area aimed at 3-8yr olds as well as a skate park and sports courts. You can find out more here.
Desborough Park – There is a children’s play area designed for 3-12yr olds, multi use games areas and football pitches. You can find out more here.
