We recently visited the Museum of Natural History in Oxford. The museum is just fantastic and FREE to visit!

What can you see at The Museum of Natural History in Oxford?
The Museum of Natural History is set in a stunning Victorian building which is home to seven million specimens.
If you or your child is interested in history, dinosaurs, palaeontology, animals, insects, minerals, crystals and architecture you will love it here!
The Natural History Musuem is split over two floors with the dinosaurs on the ground floor. We loved the musuem as you could get close to the dinosaurs and other exhibits and there were some fantastic photo opportunities and plenty to learn and discover.

River Pitts Museum
If you walk through the Natural History Museum you will also find the River Pitts Museum. The Museum is home to archaeolgical and ethnogrpahic objects from all over the world. The museum is packed-full over several floors. It’s fasinating to go and look round. We didn’t manage to fit all of the River Pitts Museum into a day at the Natural History Museum, so will go back and do more exploring during our next visit.
Car parking
We parked at the Oxford Parkway (OX2 8HA) Park and Ride. It cost £5 for 2 adults to park and ride for 16 hours. The ticket allows for up to three children under 16 to travel for free on the bus. At the park and ride you get a 2 or 2A bus, the bus drivers are really helpful and will point you in the right direction if you ask. Once in Oxford it was a 5 minute walk to the museum.

The Museum can be found at this address; OUMNH, Parks Rd, Oxford OX1 3PW. It is open Monday – Sunday, 10am – 5pm. Don’t forget entry is FREE!
