There is plenty to do on the water in Berkshire, on the River Thames, Kennet and Avon Canal and lakes around the county – from paddle boarding to boat hires, we have put together a list of the different activities you could try in Berkshire on the water.

Boat, Canoe, Kayak and Pedalo Hire
*The Little Green Boat Company – Hire a boat from either Lammas Recreation Ground in Staines or Higginson Park in Marlow for a trip down the Thames. Read about our experience here.

The Kennet Horse Boat Company – Take a horse drawn boat trip or hire a narrow boat for the day for a trip along the Kennet and Avon canal.
Caversham Boat Services – Have a large selection including cruisers for short breaks as well as day boats, motor boats and rowing boats for hire.

Dinton Pastures Boat Hire – Hire from a range of pedalos, paddleboards, canoes, single and double kayaks for a look around the vast lake at Dinton Pastures.

Hobbs of Henley – Boast the largest fleet on the Thames so there will be plenty of choice for your day out on the river!
Cliveden Boat Hire – Go on a guided cruise, hire an electric or rowing boat, go on a canoe or have fun in a pedal boat to explore this beautiful stretch of river at Cliveden.
*John Logie Motorboats – Hire a motor boat or rowing boat to get wonderful views of Windsor from the river.

Paddle Boarding
Just Up, Runnymede – Offer paddle board lessons and a hire service for those already confident in the water.
Wild Paddle, Newbury Lock and Kintbury Lock – Explore the Kennet and Avon canal by paddle board with your own tour guide.
Go With The Flo, Henley, Caversham Lakes and Rye – lessons, group socials, race events, clean ups and more.
Paddleboard Maidenhead, Experience a paddleboarding experience on the Thames.

Boat Trips
The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust – Offer canal boat trips (including those with pirate, Halloween and Christmas themes) throughout the year from Newbury Wharf. You can also take trips from Hungerford Wharf and Reading.

Thames Rivercruise, Shiplake, Goring and Pangbourne, Boat trips and private charter on The River Thames,
Kris Cruisers, Datchet, Holiday Cruisers and Day Boat Hire.
French Brothers – Offer scenic trips along the river in Windsor.
Windsor Duck Tours – Explore Windsor by road and water with this unique and fun tour!
Boating at Cliveden – run from Cliveden Reach renowned as one of the prettiest spots on the Thames.
Splash Pads and Lidos
